7:00 – 9:00pm | $15 donation at the door
PanGaia is honored to be part of this special event in association with Petaluma Arts Center’s new exhibit focused on Sonoma Wildfires remembrance and renewal.
Acknowledging the grief that still lives in our community after the tragic October 2017 fires, PanGaia will create a container to allow these emotions to be honored in this collective space. Through poetry, sound healing and audience participation, PanGaia will create the opportunity for this grief to be a catalyst for deeper community connection.
The performance features bilingual spoken word poet Joaquin Lopez, invoking Earth – reconnecting us with our origins; René Jenkins, masterful sound healer and indigenous instrumentalist; singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Tami Gosnell; with renowned musician and drum circle facilitator, Kim Atkinson, weaving his Pulsewave percussion style.
The Ancestors are watching…and listening…
Let us honor them together–in the spirit of ceremony, prayer-formance, and reverence…

And if one of our instruments breaks
It doesn’t matter
We have fallen into the place where everything is music
The strumming and the flute notes rise into the atmosphere
And even if the whole world’s harp should burn up
There will still be hidden instruments playing
Stop the words now
Open the window in the center of your chest
And let the spirits flow in and out.
